A woman was convicted at Limavady Magistrates’ Court today for claiming £14,671 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Anne McAteer (53) of Terrydoo Road, Limavady claimed Income Support while failing to declare capital. She was sentenced to three months imprisonment suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
Mrs McAteer is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
