Woman convicted at Downpatrick Crown Court of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Downpatrick Crown Court today for claiming over £13,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Emma Nagle (33) of Belfast Road, Bangor claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £13,938 while failing to declare capital. She was given a two month prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

She is required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
