Two people were convicted today at Belfast Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Mark Crossett (25) of Bowness Street, Belfast claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £2,666 while failing to declare employment. He was given 80 hours community service.
Aivaras Kondrotas (36) of Donegall Avenue, Belfast claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £8,295 while failing to declare employment. He was given a 5 month prison sentence suspended for three years.
They are also required to pay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
