Two men were convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Michael Neill (50) of Laurel Hill Road, Coleraine, claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance totalling £737 while failing to declare employment. He was given 100 hours community service.
Steven Boyd (35) of Lisnablagh Road, Coleraine, claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance totalling £1,125 while failing to declare employment. He was fined £375.
They are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
