Two people were convicted today at Belfast Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Gavin McAllister (26) of Fallswater Street, Belfast claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance totalling £3,858 while failing to declare employment. He was given a 120 hours community service.
Julie Tracey (51) of Dhu Varren Crescent, Belfast claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £3,804 while failing to declare employment. She was given a 120 hours community service.
They are also required to pay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
