Two men were convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
James Dodsworth (47) of Lindara Park, Larne, claimed Employment and Support Allowance totalling £3,865 while failing to declare employment. He was given a conditional discharge for two years.
William Elder (41) of Barra Drive, Ballymena, claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £7,755 while failing to declare employment. He was given 60 hours community service.
They are both required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
