A woman was convicted at Downpatrick Crown Court today for claiming over £22,000 in benefits she was not entitled to
Angela Black (58) of Belfast Road, Bangor claimed Income Support and Carers Allowance totalling £22,041 while failing to declare employment. She was given a six month prison sentence suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
