A woman was convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today for claiming £1,471 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Ashley Carson (35) of Lettercreeve, Ballymena claimed Income Support totalling £1,471 while failing to declare employment. She was given a two month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
