A woman was convicted at Omagh Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £10,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Melissa Murray (25) of Sunningdale, Omagh claimed Income Support, Housing Benefit and Carer’s Allowance totalling £10,395 while failing to declare employment. She was given a four month prison sentence suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
