A suspended sentence for benefit fraud at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court

A woman has been convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court for fraudulently claiming over £6,000 in benefits.
Andrea McNally (37) of Cairngorm Walk, Larne claimed Employment Support Allowance totalling £6,228 whilst failing to declare joint living arrangements. She was given three months’ imprisonment suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
Ms McNally is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongly obtained to the Department.
