A woman was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £7,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Carolynne Burnside (48) of Ashgrove, Dunmurry, claimed Income Support and Carer’s Allowance totalling £7,403 while failing to declare employment. She was sentenced to two years conditional discharge.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
