A man was convicted at Londonderry Crown Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
Gary Gallagher (47) of St Malachys Park, Cookstown claimed Income Support totalling £31,516 while failing to declare employment. He was given a nine month custodial sentence suspended for 18 months.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
