A woman was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £11,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Yvonne Holmes (50) of The Crescent, Coleraine, claimed Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £11,163 while failing to declare employment. She was given three months imprisonment suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
