A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £2,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Shannon McConville (24) of Falls Road, Belfast claimed Income Support totalling £2,339 while failing to declare employment. She was sentenced to two months imprisonment suspended for two years. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
