A man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £1,300 in benefits he was not entitled to.
Francis Carleton (45) of Benmore Drive, Belfast, claimed Income Support and Carer’s Allowance totalling £1,321 while failing to declare employment. He was given eighty hours community service. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
