A man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today for claiming over £1,000 in benefits he was not entitled to.
Andrew Cromie (43) of Alliance Road, Belfast, claimed Incapacity Benefit totalling £1,175 while failing to declare employment. He was fined £250 and £109 court costs.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department.
