Information relating to the responsibilities of Central Translations Ltd and the NICS Irish translation guidelines.

Central Translations Ltd.

Central Translations Ltd are responsible for the provision of quality assured Irish translations for the Northern Ireland Civil Service. Accordingly all NICS Departments and their arms length bodies requests for Irish translations must be sent directly to Central Translations Ltd. (Click on Link Below). Departments will liaise and be charged directly by Central Translations.

The Department for Communities has responsibility for the management of an Irish translations contract. It is the responsibility of each Department to source minority language translations through the usual procurement processes.

NICS Irish Translation Guidelines

The Departments 'Translation Advisory Committee' (TAC) have prepared a set of Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) guidelines for Irish translators to assist with Department's efforts to improve the quality of the NICS Irish translation service.
