Love Heritage NI are holding a variety of historical and archaeological events throughout Northern Ireland which will entertain you and showcase the work of the Historic Environment Division, DfC.

From breathtaking castles to old pagan settlements and impressive medieval abbeys and monasteries, Northern Ireland’s history can be seen through many old buildings and structures that still stand today. Steeped in centuries of history, myths and legends, these unique and impressive sites reveal surprising aspects of our past. Defence Heritage Seminar: Recording and Conserving a Vulnerable Resource

This one day seminar hosted by Department for Communities in association with Down County Museum will look at various examples from across Great Britain and Ireland – both north and south. The day will discuss the challenges of recording, conservation and promotion of such sites and why it’s important for future generations to come.

Each year, the Department's Historic Environment Division organises a series of lectures by professional archaeologists, architects and historians to highlight various aspects of our local heritage.
