This document provides further information on the Historic Environment Record of Northern Ireland (HERoNI). It contains an overview of the extensive collections held in HERoNI and describes the history, purpose and uses of the Record. It also details the legislation and regional policies relating to the requirement to maintain a record of the historic environment of Northern Ireland, and the responsibilities of the Department for Communities (DfC) with regard to its upkeep and access to the information it contains.
