The site sits within the Roe Valley Country Park. Very little survives of the original castle, marked now by a small mound on a defensive position high above the River Roe. The Thomas Raven map of 1622 shows a tower- house which Sir Thomas Phillips adapted with the addition of an artillery fort, but the narrow confines of the site indicate it was small. Behind the castle the drawing shows a walled garden in three parts, very like the one at Dunluce Castle.
