Summary

The aim of the review is to investigate the key elements of Northern Ireland’s gambling policy, practice and law, and identify areas where reform is necessary if gambling is to remain a safe social activity.

Consultation description

The Department is responsible for the policy and legislation on gambling (other than the National Lottery and spread betting]) in Northern Ireland.  The review will consider the implications for public health, including problem gambling; protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults; public safety, including crime and public order; economic development; fair treatment and human rights.
